Redesigned onboarding flow to reduce drop-off and help users reach core features faster. Through user interviews and iterative prototyping, we uncovered key friction points and implemented the updates to improve overall user flow efficiency.

  • Moved permission screens to the end to reduce early friction and automated offline database download to streamline setup
  • Replaced dropdown with visual camper type selection to boost engagement
  • Replaced “Explore PRO” screen with tooltip to accelerate core task access

Launched New PRO Features to Drive Subscriptions

Designed and launched Free Camping filter (free camping locations on the map), Dyrt Alerts (text notifications for sold-out campsite openings) and Drive Time (camping search by driving radius), delivering high-value functionality that increased PRO engagement and conversion.

The Free Camping button resulted in an 85% increase in top-converting CTA interaction in Spring 2025.

Enhanced Map Clarity with Category Pins

Redesigned map pins to visually differentiate key camping types (public, dispersed, RV parks, overnight parking), highlighting The Dyrt as the only platform with all U.S. camping options in one place. Conducted user testing to validate clarity and ease of use. The update boosted map engagement and significantly increased discovery of underutilized categories.
